August 29, 2018
Improved our support page and tied it into a system that will help us to better manage a large number of support tickets. We've been working on this for the past few weeks. One of my favorite features is the ability to know what people are searching for but unable to find, and to use those results to build more useful help guides. For example, a popular search (for a missing feature!) is the ability to print the ingredient report.
August 18, 2018
Added latest VAERS data (through July 17) to Vaccine Lot Search. So far for 2018, there are 16,863 vaccine adverse events reported - possibly 168,630 to 1,686,300 adverse events (given that only 1%-10% are reported.)
Vaccine Lot Search results will now show the length of time it took for the vaccine reaction symptoms to appear. For example,
it might look like this: The vaccine reaction onset ranged from immediate to 3 days, with an average onset of the same day. This can help give you a better sense
of what other people have experienced with the specific lot and the time period in which they experienced it.
August 15, 2018
VaxCalc will now filter out DTaP vaccines from the Vaccine Selection Table if the age of the person being vaccinated falls outside of the indicated age range for DTaP. As more vaccines are filtered out by age, the selection table will be smaller, presenting only relevent choices. For example, it makes no sense (as we are doing now) to show the Shingles vaccine (for people age 50+) if the person being vaccinated is a child.
June 27, 2018
Added more research detail to 4 ingredients found in the new Shingles vaccine, Shingrix: MPL and QS-21, both immunostimulants that are part of Adjuvant System AS01; cholesterol and Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell protein/DNA. Explanation and risks of immortal cell lines, including CHO and VERO cells.
Added more research detail to VERO cells, found in Rotavirus and Polio vaccines.
June 16, 2018
Added latest VAERS data (through May 14) to Vaccine Lot Search. So far for 2018, there are 8,682 vaccine adverse events reported - possibly 86,820 to 868,200 adverse events (given that 1%-10% are reported.)
Ancient history
For those of you interested in ancient history, this is what VaxCalc looked like 7 to 10 years ago.
